Bisnis.com, BALIKPAPAN -- The West Kalimantan Provincial Government (West Kalimantan Provincial Government) received assistance with 100 Oxygen Concentrators from the central government.West Kalimantan Governor Sutarmidji stated that the equipment arrived at Supadio Airport, Kubu Raya and was subsequently received at the West Kalimantan Governor's Hall."Thanks to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, who has provided assistance as a form of the President's attention in handling Covid-19 in West Kalimantan," he said.Sutarmidji revealed that West Kalimantan was almost experiencing an oxygen crisis because the duration of oxygen delivery from Pontianak to other districts/cities took up to 12 hours.“This oxygen concentrator can be used in certain situations, especially when there is a shortage of oxygen.Thus, it is hoped that the handling of Covid-19 which requires oxygen can be handled quickly and appropriately," he said.Previously, the West Kalimantan Provincial Government noted that the oxygen demand in the area could reach 3,000 tubes per day.Sutarmidji stated that the need was based on the need for one ICU room, namely five oxygen cylinders.Due to the scarcity of oxygen gas supply, the West Kalimantan Provincial Government cooperates with Malaysia to meet the oxygen gas supply needs, where West Kalimantan is the only regional head to do this."There is no problem with the relationship between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Malaysia.
