Ministry of Finance Records Import of Medical Devices and Vaccines Worth Rp4.94 Trillion

VIVA – The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that the total imports of medical devices and vaccines during the period January 1 to May 13, 2022 amounted to Rp4.94 trillion.The Director of Customs Facilities at the Ministry of Finance, Untung Basuki, revealed that the realization of the provision of customs incentives until the period of June 3, 2022 had reached Rp. 1.04 trillion."As for the import of medical devices and vaccines, it is Rp. 1.026 billion.Then the import value for medical devices is IDR 928 billion, vaccines IDR 4 trillion," said Untung at a media briefing in Jakarta, Saturday, June 18, 2022.Untung said that the import realization value was still dominated by vaccine commodities, which amounted to 81.2 percent.Then followed by medical devices 18.8 percent.Medical devices include drugs, PCR, oxygen and oxygen cylinders, as well as respiratory therapy devices including oxygen concentrators, generators, and ventilators.In addition, Untung explained, the import duty for the total number of medical devices reached Rp59 billion.Meanwhile, the total vaccine is bigger, amounting to Rp. 202 billion.That's because the government is currently intensively vaccinating the community."More now, the dominance is vaccines, for those whose medical devices tend to go down," he said.
