More than 3,000 family medicine offices, mostly in rural areas and disadvantaged areas, will be able to be renovated and equipped with diagnostic and treatment equipment, by the end of June 2023, by financing over 180 million euros from the National Health Plan. Romania's Recovery and Resilience (PNRR).The Ministry of Health has published in public consultation the Beneficiary's Guide, which details the conditions that doctors must meet in order to receive non-reimbursable funds, eligible expenses, as well as the deadline for submitting applications for funding.In Romania, people living in rural areas or small towns, those in marginalized communities and those with low socio-economic status have reduced access to health care.Thus, the first investment through PNRR Health is intended for the development of pre-hospital medical infrastructure, the measure aimed at reducing differences in access to health care by region, ethnicity, age or income level.According to the Beneficiary's Guide and the documents posted on the website of the Ministry of Health, the investment has a total budget of 888,301,215 lei (equivalent to 180,450,000 euros), and its objective is the rehabilitation, modernization and endowment of 3,000 family doctors' offices.
