Turkish Embassy in Dhaka cohosts an event, Together for Turkiye, in the capital recently calling for donating to the earth quake victims of the country. — New Age photo Mobile Genset

An event, Together for Turkiye, was hosted by Agile Minds Corporation in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, AFAD (an on-the-ground Turkish NGO which will help with logistical and installation aspects, the Earth Identity Project - NGO no. 1969 which helps with local fund collection, and Thrive, a US-registered NGO that will provide food packages for the earthquake victims.
Mishal Karim, chairman of Agile Minds Corporation, started his speech with a quote by Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world.’
He then stated, ‘Our initiative will attempt to deliver a functional field hospital with all the required elements: 2 Air Domes - each 4,380 Square Feet, with a connecting channel of 459 Square Feet. The 2 Air Domes come with a 30KW generator required for its operations. Furthermore, we are arranging for the donation of sleeping bags, battery-powered heaters, power banks as well as tent mats.’
He further added, ‘Your donations can make a big difference to the victims who are currently coping with the aftermath of one of the most devastating earthquakes of our generation.’
In the event, Ramis ŞEN, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh, Sadia Moyeen, board member of Thrive, representative from TIKA and, AFAD were present.
The Agile Minds Corporation in partnership with the Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh, TIKA, AFAD, the Earth Identity Project and Thrive will donate all of the element needed to build a field hospital in the devastated region in Turkey.
The initiative is putting together an online platform where donors can contribute whatever they can afford to help launch the field hospital as fast as possible. The requirement for support will be ongoing.
This will undoubtedly be one of the single-biggest contributions for the earthquake victims in Turkey - from Bangladesh to Turkey, harvesting empathy for humanity, said a press release.
