The textile and clothing industry represents a fundamental piece in the economic support of many developing countries, including Peru. However, according to the Institute of Economic and Social Studies (IEES) of the National Society of Industries (SNI), this sector faced a sharp drop of 32.1% in its production during 2020, also generating job losses. , since this sector generated approximately 400 thousand direct jobs.
As all economic sectors have been reactivated, the textile industry has also followed this path.In that sense, technology has been a key factor in offering designers new and efficient ways to produce their fabrics. With this in mind, the renowned Peruvian fashion designer Annaiss Yucra and EPSON will present the workshop How to sublimate your digital designs? Sticker Paper

This workshop is part of the programming of the first pop-up of the fashion designer who, after multiple international presentations in the United States, Colombia, Russia, the Netherlands and Guatemala;decides to open the physical doors of her universe with an experience that will combine fashion, technology and art. Thus, hand in hand with EPSON, not only will a free workshop be offered for all those interested in starting a business in the textile industry, but a space will also be offered so that attendees can personalize bags with exclusive designs, through the sublimation technique. .
Sublimation is a technique that allows a world of possibilities in the textile sector. It consists of printing designs on paper in a sublimation printer with specialized inks for it.Once the paper is printed, it goes to the next process: stamping through heat transfer. In this way, there are no limits to the imagination and any type of design can be stamped.
Likewise, this technique allows textile entrepreneurs to lower costs, since there is less ink consumption and there are printing solutions for all sizes of businesses. On the other hand, it is friendly to the environment, since there is low energy consumption and, in the case of EPSON, the inks used are endorsed by international environmental certifications.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, December 17 at 11 am with free admission at the Manto Hotel, located at Los Libertadores 490, San Isidro.
